Your Massage Therapy Appointment, What to Expect

Upon booking your Initial Massage Treatment, you will receive an online intake form regarding your current health history.

When you arrive for your appointment, we will discuss your intake form and any other concerns you have.

After this discussion, a thorough assessment will be performed using various assessment tools to help determine the most appropriate treatment plan.

Once the treatment plan is agreed upon, the therapist will then leave the treatment room, and allow you the time to undress to your level of comfort. It is extremely important that you be comfortable and relaxed during your treatment. If you have any concerns or would prefer to remain clothed, accommodations will be made. Once you are comfortably on the massage table and covered between the linens, the therapist will knock on the door to confirm that you are ready to begin treatment.

As a Registered Massage Therapist, very specific draping techniques are designed to ensure that only the area being treated at a specific time is exposed. Otherwise, you will be covered with linen to ensure you’re comfortable and covered. Every effort is made to ensure that you are not unnecessarily exposed, in particular when you are required to alter your position.

Throughout the treatment, a consistent dialogue regarding pressure and technique can be expected by the patient. The patient always has the ability to remove consent for treatment at any time during the massage.

After treatment is complete, the therapist will leave the room once again to allow you to comfortably re dress. Again, the therapist will knock to confirm reentry to the room. They will then reassess and provide you with any home care necessary.
